Skip the Plastic recognizes volunteers with the Conrad Blucher Institute as Cleanup Heroes
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Our heroes this month are volunteers from the Conrad Blucher Institute at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
Dr. Rick Smith – the new Director of The Conrad Blucher Institute (CBI) (conradblucherinstitute.org) who organized the event says, “The mission of CBI is to conduct innovative research and collaborate with scientists and professional engineers to develop and apply technology solutions relevant to surveying, scientific measurements, and to issues in the Gulf of Mexico region. While the Institute’s activities include advanced technological coastal monitoring systems such as the Texas Coastal Ocean Observation Network (TCOON) and the Port of Corpus Christi’s Physical Oceanographic Real-Time System®, something as simple as using trash bags and trash pinchers also play a vital role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem in the Coastal Bend – and we’re happy to do our part.”
