October Chapter Meeting

The scorching temperatures Texans experienced this summer were just one of many impacts from climate change being felt around the globe. Experts say that we have about 10 years to act if we want to limit increasing temperatures. In the hope that clean hydrogen can be part of the solution, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act set aside $8 billion to develop at least four hydrogen hubs in the U.S. The Port of Corpus Christi is proposing to build one of those hubs here and has applied for funding from the Department of Energy.

At our chapter meeting on October 30th, representatives from the Port will give a presentation on their plans for a hydrogen hub. The jury is still out on hydrogen hubs – some people say they will be an integral part of the solution to climate change, while others predict they may cause more harm. This is your chance to learn about hydrogen hubs, ask questions and to voice any concerns you might have.

We’ll also have update on our Skip the Plastic program and a beach report.
